January 19, 2011
North Babylon firefighters responded to Hale Rd. and Rt.231 Sunday January 16, 2011 at about 4:00 pm for a two car accident with entrapment. Two people were trapped in two different vehicles, a BMW sedan and a Chevy Malibu. The crews from Heavy Rescue 1-8-15, Engines 1-8-3, 1-8-4 and 1-8-8 used multiple tools and saws to remove one door from the Malibu and the two driver side doors and roof from the BMW. Once removed from the vehicles both of the injured were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
