On Thursday, November 7, 2013 the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to a motor vehicle accident on the Southern State Pkwy. The location was dispatched eastbound west of exit 39. Babylon Central Fire Alarm advised Assistant Chief Caroleo of a possible pin with a car into the woods. Upon the Chiefs arrival he confirmed a pin to his incoming units. It was necessary for firefighters to remove the roof of the vehicle to gain access to one trapped person inside. One person was transported with non life threatening injuries to Good Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation. All units were under the command of Assistant Chief John Caroleo.
