| Friday April 12, 2013 North Babylon Station 2 Firefighters were called to Seward Street at about 1:30 a.m. for a reported car fire in front of a home. First Assistant Chief Cabano arrived on scene first, followed by Third Assistant Chief Harrington and encountered what was actually an MVA with both cars on fire. The driver of a Nissan Maxima reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a raccoon and hit a parked Buick Regal. The collision put both cars in the middle of the street where they caught fire. Engine 1-8-4 and Ambulance 1-8-7 responded, one 1 3/4 line and a booster line were used to extinguish the fire in about 20 minutes. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured and refused medical attention.
