| Despite the gloomy weather, nearly a 1,000 people visited the Fire Company's Open House on Friday October 1, 2010. The members were on hand teaching kids and adults about fire safety. We had a lot of live demonstrations including but not limited to a simulated bedroom fire, a dryer fire, and using the jaws of life to extricate a person from a car. Over 500 certificates were issued to children for completing all of the different awareness booths such as E.D.I.T.H (Emergency Drills In The Home), Stop Drop and Roll, the smoke trailer, and emergency call.
The North Babylon Fire Company would like to thank everyone that supported this event and we look foward to seeing you next year. |
