| On Thursday, May 31, 2012 @ 2041 hrs the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company was alerted by Babylon Central Fire Alarm to a motor vehicle accident. The accident happened at the intersection's of Deer Park Avenue and Lombard Street. First arriving on scene was 1st Assistance Chief Tom Jordan who quickly gave the order to incoming units to shut down the road and divert traffic down Cypress Street. Additional ambulances were then requested to the scene to help assist the aided. Deer Park Fire Department also assisted with an ambulance that happened to be passing the accident scene. There was a total of five patients that required transport for further evaluation with non-life threatening injuries. One of the vehicles involved in the accident ended up on the front lawn of a corner residence and was within feet of hitting the house. North bound Deer Park Avenue was shut down for approximately 1 hour until the vehicles could be removed. All units were under the direction of Chief George Folise. |
