WORKING HOUSE FIRE 1/20/2012

At 8:30 A.M. on Friday January 20, 2012, The North Babylon Fire Company was alerted for a House Fire @ 104 Parkdale Drive. 1st arriving unit, Engine 1-8-8, reported heavy fire throughout a 1 1/2 story Private Dwelling and requested additional resources from surrounding departments. There was fire throughout the 1st floor, with fire extending to the 1/2 story(2nd flr) and eventually through the roof of the structure. Multiple hand lines we used(3) to fight the fire and protect the adjacent homes. All occupants evacuated safely before the arrival of FD units. There was assistance received from the Deer Park, Babylon, West Islip, West Babylon and Wyandanch Fire Departments. 3rd Assistant Chief John Caroleo placed the fire under control at approximately 10:00 A.M.. There were no reported injuries, civilian or Fire Fighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
