| On Thursday morning @ approximately 4:45 A.M., the North Babylon Fire Company was alerted for a reported structure fire at 501 Mount Place. 1-8-32 Chief Robert Cabano, was the first responding unit, Babylon Central advised him he had SCPD unit on scene with a Working House Fire, heavy fire 1st and 2nd floors, 1-8-32 confirmed and requested the alarm be reactivated as a Working Fire. There was an interior attack established by the crews from Engine 4 and Ladder 6. Due to the large amount of fire, all firefighters were ordered to evacuate the structure and operate an exterior operation to darken down the fire. An interior operation took place once the fire was knocked down. There was major structure damage to the floors between the 1st and 2nd floor, the attic/roof and exterior walls of the structure. Chief George Folise was in command, there was Mutual Aid recieved from the West Babylon, Wyandanch and East Farmingdale FD's to the scene, as well as West Islip and Babylon FD's to cover at North Babylon Fire Headquarters. All units were released at approximately 6:30 A.M., there were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Pictures provided by Oceanside FD Ex Chief Timmy Biscay
