Morning Fire In North Babylon

On Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at approximately 7:07am the North Babylon Fire Company was alerted to a reported structure fire by Babylon Central Fire Alarm. The location was reported at 332 Erlanger Blvd. The working fire was transmitted when Assistant Chief Brian Cullen arrived on scene. The request was made from Chief Cullen to Babylon Central to have PSEG put on a forwith response due to live power lines being down.

Upon arrival they were met with heavy fire to the 2nd floor of the structure. The fire self vented out the front windows.An aggressive attack was made by all responding units and the fire was under control within 35 minutes. All units were under command of Assistant Chief James Harrington.No injuries were reported. No occupants were home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently under investigation by the SCPD arson unit and the TOB fire marshal.
