North Babylon Responds to Early Morning House Fire on Sunrise Highway

On Sunday, November 29, 2015 at approximately 2:30am the North Babylon Fire Company was alerted to a reported structure fire by Babylon Central Fire Alarm. The location was on the Eastbound service road on Sunrise Hwy. The working fire was transmitted when Captain Tom Stoltz was en-route to the firehouse and passed the scene and conveyed the information to Chief Rob Cabano.

Upon arrival they were met with heavy fire to the structure and the car in the driveway. There was also heavy fire extension to the adjoining house. An aggressive attack was made by all responding units and the fire was under control within 30 minutes. Two people were evaluated by EMS and one of them was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital In West Islip for evaluation with non life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown at theis time and is currently under investigation by the SCPD arson unit and the TOB fire marshal.
