Fulton Street House Fire

At about 11:00 a.m. Friday September 28, 2012 North Babylon firefighters with assistance from West Babylon, East Farmingdale, Wyandanch and Deer Park, fought a heavily involved house fire at 35 Fulton Street. When firefighters arrived the fire was well advanced and being fed by three 100 pound propane tanks on the exposure 3 side of the home. North Babylon Engine 1-8-4 and West Babylon Engine 1-9-6 arrived together and their crews stretched four lines into the house and to rear to cool the propane tanks. The fire had both floors of the home and attic well involed when the fire came through the roof. The fire took about an hour to bring under control. One firefighter suffered burns to the neck, they were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and later released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
