Working House Fire 12/1/2011

On Monday December 1,2011, at 11:40 A.M., the North Babylon Fire Compnay was alerted for a reported electrical fire in a residence at 231 Essex St. While responding to the alarm Babylon Central Fire Alarm advised Chief Folise they were recieving additional calls for smoke in the house, and all occupants had self evacuated. Chief Folise arrived on scene with heavy smoke and fire on the 2nd floor of the residence, requested Central Fire to retone Working Fire. Additional units were requested to the scene from the Deer Park FD, Wyandanch FC, West babylon FD, North Lindenhurst FC and the East Farmingdale FC. Stand by coverage was also requested to Head Quarters from Babylon FD and West Islip FD. All Departments were released at 1:30 P.M., no injuries reported by residents or Fire Fighters. The residents were assisted by the Red Cross for shelter and the cause of the fire is still under investigation through the Town of Babylon Fire Marshalls Office.
