The North Babylon Fire Company was called to a reported vehicle fire on Jerome Avenue about 01:30 July 16, 2016. Engines 1-8-1 and 1-8-8 responded and on arrival found a Chevy Camaro involved in the street. The driver noticed a problem with the vehicle and was able to pull to the side of the road and exit safely. Crews put one 1 3/4 hose line and booster line in operation to extinguish the fire about 10 minutes.
